When we launched our e-payment solutions in Canada in February, 1997 there were maybe a handful of company's that
offered e-payment. The only way you could offer payment using an accredited financial institution merchant account
was through RBC Financial Group - formerly known as Royal Bank of Canada. It was a learning process for both RBC
and SPI. In 1998 we joined a consortium partnership with Industry Canada to kick start e-commerce for SME's across
the country.
